My First Cruise - If You Ever conceived A Cruise, Read This Now
My first cruise was something I always wished-for. Whenever I spoke to people who had been on a cruise, I secretly felt a little bit jealous. I cannot remember ever hearing anything negative from anyone who told me about the cruise they were on.
So now it was my turn and when the opportunity presented itself, I was a lot than ready to go on my first cruise.
At a dinner in a friend's house one evening one of the couples suggested that we whole go on a cruise the following September and there was five couples altogether at the meal. What a great response they got, everyone was in favour and then I discovered that myself and my wife were the only couple who had never been on a cruise before. Whole the other couples had at least three or a lot cruises under their belts and some a lot a lot than three. (wow was I jealous.)
Plans were set in motion that same evening, brochures were produced, the Royal Caribbean was chosen as the company we would sail with and we even picked the Navigator of the Seas as the ship we would sail on. My first cruise was now very real and something to look ahead to.
It was going to be a Mediterranean cruise, sailing from Rome (Civitavecchia) to be exact and then travelling to Messina in Sicily. We had the whole itinerary and I was like a child about to go on a first holiday. After Sicily we would head for Athens in Greece, spend a day there and in the evening we would depart for Kusadasi in Turkey. another day would be spent there and then we would sail to Crete, another of the Greek islands before returning to Civitavecchia in Rome.
Everything was booked and we decided on a cabin on one of the upper decks with a balcony. This cost a little extra, but was worth every penny. Whole I needed now was September to arrive, which seemed to come round at an alarmingly fast rate.
September the 20th 2009 we whole set sail and what a fantastic holiday we had. The navigator of the Seas was the most impressive ship I have ever been on. Never disappointed for a moment, whole I can say is I felt like a king for that week.
The food was excellent, I believe I put on some extra pounds By the end of our cruise. Every night there was a different show for us to watch and there was some wonderful performers, singers and dancers. Whole in whole my first cruise was a huge success and now I look ahead to my next one, which will not be in the too distant future.
